The Gospel of St. Luke relates the story of the risen Christ appearing to two disciples who were walking along the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). This story provides the image of the Walk to Emmaus, an Upper Room program that calls for and supports Christian discipleship.
